If you're having drag racing withdrawal - Have No Fear - The 2008 season is almost here!

We're planning some great things and lots more races this year.  There are surprises in store for both racers and spectators.  You're going to love it!!!  I can't spill the beans yet - keep checking back for more updates.

The schedule is being put together right now.  We'll start out with a Test - n - Tune in April so you can blow the dust off those engines and get your burning rubber fix.

Also, new this year will be the Old Cavern Racing Association.  Details will be posted soon on how you can become a member.

Welcome to the new Old Cavern Dragway.  You might remember it as the Carlsbad Dragway, but those days are gone.  New owners have taken over and are breathing new life into the quickest strip in New Mexico.  We have lots of plans for fixing up the place to make it safer, more comfortable, and more exciting.

After the tumbleweeds are beaten into submission, the first priority is getting a restroom building built.  I know I'm not alone when I say the porta-potty must go.  We have lots of painting to do and the ET shack needs electricity and a new roof.  As time and funding permits, we will also add:

• More track lighting for night races
• New Signs
• Infrared sensors to calculate miles per hour
• Concrete barriers between the track and the spectators
• Refurbished bleachers
• Track surface improvements
• And last, but not least, someday we hope to pursue NHRA certification

Anybody who would like to volunteer their time and materials to help us make these improvements, we would like to talk to you!  Free racing and spectator passes will be gladly provided to you. 

Sponsor Classes

$100,000  We will name the track after you.

$50,000    You can have a lane named for your company.

$500         Your company may place 4'x8' sign at the track with your logo.  We will also provide you with free passes you may distribute to your employees.
